Churches want to be able to record and produce quality video but some don’t have the funding or expertise to deal with HD cameras and video editing software. I just posted a video to Facebook and YouTube using a used iPhone, a $59 microphone, an $11 tripod, and free video editing software for iPhone.

The video below shows that same video with some behind the scenes views recorded on another iPhone and some screen views of the process of editing and uploading the video. Below the video are some more details of where you can purchase and download the tools I used.

I love this little microphone. My biggest disappointment in Apple’s new iPhone 7 isn’t that I can’t plug in headphones, it is that I can’t plug in this microphone. It makes a huge difference in audio quality especially when you are in a situation with background noise.
Tripod: AUKEY iPhone Tripod with Mount $10.99 on Amazon
There are a number of decent little tripods out there but this one is inexpensive and works well. If you want to use a larger, freestanding tripod, Aukey also sells the mount itself for use with any tripod.
Software: Spice Video Editor from GoPro Free
Again, there are a number of options out there. Some are free, some charge a few dollars. With an iPhone, you also have the option of just using iMovie but I found Splice to be a little easier to use.
