About PastorWill.Net

PastorWill.net is your home for Church AV and Technology solutions.

The site is researched and written by Rev. Will Rice, who formerly served as the Director of Communications for the Rio Texas Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church, where he created their Media Center to provide support, training, and resources to help churches reach their mission fields. He remains an expert in audio, video, live-streaming, website development, apps, social media, and more. His free, informative posts and guides will help you make sense of the ever-changing world of technology so you can find the right equipment and solutions for your congregation.

Will is the Owner of Mason Hall Media, LLC. He started the business after nearly two decades of pastoral ministry and church administration. He now works mostly in audio production. His team at Pro Voice Guy Studios produces ads for radio and streaming services, provides voice and audio production for television commercials, creates audio tracks for corporate training videos, and produces podcasts mainly in the religion, spirituality, self-help, and medical genres.

Pastor Will keeps up with the latest in technology and communications and uses this site as a place to share his knowledge and experience.

Will is married to Karen, a church music director, and helps to raise her daughter along with his two boys, a cat named Minerva and a rescue dog named Sahara.

  1. Rev Rice,
I enjoyed your presentation at the Capital District Lay Leadership Training event today. Sorry I had to leave a bit early. Thank you for the link to this blog. I am following it and look forward to reading your future posts.
I would love to have you look at our website–www.berkeleyumc.org and our Facebook page–www.facebook.com/berkeleyumc and give me any feedback or suggestions you have.

      • I’m confused, Will Rice.

You promote, here, about a half-dozen of what you say are yours businesses, but it seems like you don’t actually do anything with any of them, except for posting the occasional free-advice article. You don’t seem to do any pastoring. You don’t seem to be a bona fide a/v expert. All of your sites are vague or blank. There are no testimonials. You don’t reply to messages here. You haven’t touched your youtube channel in five years.

This all seems like a front.

What do you actually do?! How do you make a living?!

      • Not to be rude but, wouldn’t it be easier for you to just go to another site? I haven’t charged you for any content. I make virtually no revenue from this site but I leave it up due to the information is still helpful to some. Would it be better for you if I were to take the site down? Or, maybe just turn off the comments.

  2. Hello, I have discovered that a person needs to know the the hdmi output resolution and frame rate needs to be compatible with the video capture box. The Canon RF R800 and the Blackmagic Intensity shuttle are unfortunately incompatible.

  3. pls pastor will, i want to know the necessary steps to set up the means of recording messages into audio CDs for our ministry. we are a newly ministry trying to set up the media dept.

  4. Pastor Will, I am hoping to interview you in the next week for a seminary project. Please contact me as soon as you comfortably able to do so.

  5. Looks like you get practically zero traffic here, Will. That’s terrible. What’s the deal, old friend??!
