As I prepare to begin my new role as Director of Communications and Media Support for the Rio Texas Annual Conference, I am getting lots of requests for help. I consider this a good thing. A lot of our churches know that they are not where they need to be in terms of technology, websites, and social media presence. Below are some “getting started” resources that can help if you are starting from scratch. These are social media related. I am working on a post full of links for churches getting started with a new website. I hope to post it soon.
As a disclaimer, on this blog, you will see a lot of links from a website called “Church Marketing Sucks.” You may be offended by their name. You probably need to spend a moment to move past that. The mission of the site is stated as follows: “The site to frustrate, educate and motivate the church to communicate, with uncompromising clarity, the truth of Jesus Christ.” Not a bad mission.
