I feel like I have been locked in my office for a few months. This month, I finally get back on the road to talk face to face with church folks looking to improve their church’s communications!
Hill Country District – Equipping the Saints
January 20 – First United Methodist Church, Boerne
You are invited to join me Saturday, January 20 at the 2018 Hill Country District Equipping the Saints Event. I will be leading opening worship and then a morning workshop at 10:00 called How Does Your Church Communicate. This 45-minute workshop will cover some of the essential components of quality church communications strategy. The focus will be on cutting through the clutter of too much information & successfully communicating in ways that help the overall mission of the church.
The event is free, and lunch is available for $12. It will be held at First United Methodist Church of Boerne. Registration is by phone or fax only. You can download the registration form here. You can download the brochure with the list of all the workshops here.
Rethink Leadership, ATX Conference 2018
January 27 – Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, Austin
On January 27, I will be leading two workshops at the Rethink Leadership, ATX Conference 2018. At 11:10, I will offer Church Communications 101: Communicating with Your Congregation. It will focus on the fundamental theories of internal church communications – how to cut through the clutter of peoples’ busy lives and communicate information essential to your church’s mission. I will also talk about creating a communications strategy that uses all your communications channels to get your message through.
After lunch at 1:30, I will lead Church Communications 201: Reaching Outside the Walls. I will cover promoting your church in the community through the web, social media, and other outlets. I will also talk about how to prepare for the rare instance that the church risks receiving negative media attention.
Can’t make either of these events? Stay tuned for details on some upcoming webinars this February!
